A Seattle Boat Wedding on the Historic Virginia V

There is something extraordinary about saying vows on open water. The gentle movement of the lake, the warmth of the afternoon sun, and the soft hum of celebration create a setting that feels both intimate and timeless. Sinan and her partner chose the historic Steamer Virginia V for their wedding day, and we had the honor of documenting every moment from the deck of this iconic Seattle treasure.

From the beginning, their journey with us grew naturally. They first came to Soul Mates Bridal for their wedding portraits, and later returned for full wedding day coverage. It felt like watching their story unfold one chapter at a time, moving from early laughter during portraits to the quiet certainty of vows shared in front of their loved ones.

The Beauty of the Virginia V

A Venue Steeped in History

Built in 1922, the Steamer Virginia V carries a century of stories. Its white wood exterior, brass details, and wraparound decks offer a nautical charm that never fades. For Sinan and her partner, the boat was more than a venue. It was a place where tradition met modern romance, framed by Seattle’s lakes and skyline.

A Grand Entrance

One of the most unforgettable moments was Sinan walking down the exterior staircase, her veil floating in the breeze. Friends and family watched from both levels of the vessel as she stepped gracefully toward her partner. The sunlight caught the layers of her gown, turning each step into a soft, glowing frame.

Sinan wore our gown Cascade entre Vignes, a design known for its flowing skirt and airy texture. On the Virginia V, the gown moved like water, creating an effortless harmony with the waves and wind.

A Ceremony Filled With Light

Vows on the Open Deck

Their ceremony took place at the front deck, surrounded by floral installations in soft yellows, creams, and peach tones. The lake shimmered behind them while guests watched quietly, phones and cameras lowered for the moment that mattered most.

Sinan and her partner read personal vows, speaking with a calm sincerity that matched the peaceful rhythm of the boat. The soft rustle of water against the hull created a natural soundtrack that made the entire scene feel suspended in time.

Laughter and Celebration

After the vows came applause, joyful shouts from their families, and the warm bustle of guests moving around the deck for hugs and photos. The Virginia V became its own small world, filled with delight, gentle breeze, and the glow of a couple beginning a new chapter.

A Journey We Were Honored to Witness

Working with Sinan and her partner from their portrait session to their wedding day felt incredibly meaningful. Watching them trust us through each step reminded us why we love what we do. Moments like these are not simply photographs. They are memories carried into the future.

If you dream of a Seattle wedding that feels personal, scenic, and filled with emotion, we would love to help you create it.
